Fall semester is in full swing so my media consumption has slowed down at bit but don't worry I still have some things to share!

Books!

"You, Again" By Kate Goldbeck.

I haven't started this book yet, but I am so excited to try it out! I have been in a little bit of a reading slump so I am hoping this will bring me out of it. Sometimes all you need is a little rom com to bring you back from purgatory.

This book is described as a gender swapped When Harry Met Sally, with slow burn and enemies to friends to lovers tropes. I am not a very big fan of enemies to lovers but sometimes they are enjoyable!

Shows/Movies!

Adults is a sitcom focusing on a group of dysfunctional friends and roommates who are trying to balance relationships, work and world problems while also keeping each other from blowing up their lives.

This show is hilarious and at times gives me secondhand embarrassment, but the closeness in the group is very endearing. Each episode is packed full of chaotic endeavors and absolutely crazy dialogue; this show is a perfect watch for bad days or when you are bored.

Books!        

 From Virile Woman to WomanChrist by Barbara Newman.      

 I actually have not started this book (It's on the way) but, I was immediately intrigued by the topic. I recently have been very hyper focused on medieval literature and other parts of medieval societies; this book focuses on the evolution of medieval Christianity and its effect on women in the religion. I am not a religious person, but I do love to learn about its history. I am so excited to read this book!

Shows/Movies!

 Desperate Housewives.

I am two seasons into this show and I love it! It is so bizarre and bingeable, almost every character makes the worst decisions possible, but you love them regardless (Or you completely despise them AHEM GEORGE). The drama, mystery and scandal make it worth the sometimes cringy or dated commentary. Overall, it's camp!

Furious.

This limited show is a crime drama in every sense of the genre. Deadbeat cops, egotistical FBI agents, no sleep, too much coffee, and let's not forget, the death and abuse of women. Despite the typical plot lines, I do find myself intrigued and gripped by certain parts of this show, I very much am a crime show enjoyer (Shout out watching Law and Order: SVU wayyyy too young) so it's quite easy for me to like even the most redundant cop shows. Overall, I'll probably watch this one to the end but jury's still out on if I like it or not.

(Honorable mention: Sterling Point. I just started watching it and I'm too lazy to review it rn.)

Mouthful of Diamonds by Phantogram.

This song has been on repeat for me allllll month, I love Phantogram's music and this song is possibly my #1 on the Eyelid Movies album! It's very whimsical audibly while the lyrics and meaning behind can be interpreted in less than happy ways. Overall 10/10, amazing car ride song!
