Hey everyone :),
I am not much of a drama/rant writer but today was so bad and I don't have many people around me that will listen or that I can talk to. Last night I woke up around one in the morning to text someone and I basically spilled my heart out to them..
A little backstory.. This person and I have been friends since MIDDLE SCHOOL we are currently in college. Lets call him Lorence, anyway we met in early 8th grade and were pretty much conjoined at the hip since then, we talked constantly and were just always close in general. Although, senior year of high school kind of changed our relationship, he grew very distant and nonchalant which confused the hell out of me.
We kind of fell out of touch after graduating (mostly on his end, he basically ghosted me) but before our first year of college he reached out to apologize a lot and he kind of opened up about his problems. Naively, I thought this mean we were chill, but he went right back to barely texting, popping up here and there.
Flash forward to now (after many cycles of the talking then not talking), I sent him a message basically telling him to get his shit together and talk to be because all the touch and go communication was very hurtful and he was very important to me, this morning he replied and asked to meet up to talk in person.
I agreed, not because I wanted to give him another chance really..I wanted to see what he would say and maybe get some closure you know? Yeah well...Readers, it was a complete disaster!! The whole time he was being unserious and nonchalant, he wouldn't give me actual reasons for his behavior other than "life got crazy" and he kept spouting motivational bullshit like "don't let negativity cloud the good" and "someday this will all be water under the bridge and we will be fine."
I wanted to throw a rock at him! Not to mention how awkward and angering it was, it felt like he didn't take my feelings and thoughts seriously, he was literally playing in my face. AND he was on his phone every five seconds or dabbing up people around us as we walked and talked. At the end I was so over it I wasn't event talking. The worst part is he got distracted talking to someone and I walked away, he didn't even look back or text me after, he just let me walk off.
After this there's no way in hell I will try again, but I feel so heartbroken I tried so hard to salvage a friendship I cherished, and it felt like he didn't even care that it was falling apart. I don't have guy friends usually (I don't have many friends at all tbh) is this a guy thing? Has something similar ever happened to you and is it wrong to feel so angry and betrayed by this stuff?
Anyhow... thanks for reading my very long rant <3
